It's time to unlock the full potential of home improvement services

Home improvement services already deliver significant benefits and creating a more comprehensive service across the country would have substantial impact, writes Millie Brown.

Housing is a key factor determining people's health, wellbeing and financial security. It can mean the difference between a good later life, or one marred with ill-health and poverty.  

Support to help people maintain, repair and adapt their homes is inconsistent across England. This leaves millions of people enduring damp, cold and hazardous living conditions, impacting their health and the health of their loved ones.
