A new report has called for a radical reduction in middle management to boost the time social workers spend with families.

‘A Blueprint for Children's Social Care – Unlocking the potential of social work' argues that by allowing social workers to ‘self-manage', councils could increase the time frontline workers spend with families by 60% and reduce their workloads by 20%.
