Urban areas will today outline a fairer funding model that would establish the ‘true base cost of delivering statutory services'.

The Special Interest Group of Municipal Authorities (SIGOMA), which expects its members to be hit by cuts of almost £1bn to core funding in 2015/16, will launch its report in Parliament this afternoon.
