Town hall bosses have reissued their call for urgent action to improve social care funding, amid claims that ministers are dragging their feet over a long-term solution.

The chairman of the Local Government Association's (LGA) community wellbeing board, Cllr David Rogers, claimed the question of how the nation paid for social care was now ‘the most important issue this country is facing'.
