Mayor Jules Pipe looks at the positive public response to devolution efforts for local government and, in the run-up to the upcoming London Councils Summit, calls for both sides to work together

In November 2015, London appears to the visitor to be ‘booming'. However, for London councillors, their boroughs, residents and businesses the challenges appear increasingly intractable, threatening both the economic growth the UK depends upon and quality of life of Londoners.

It will be the challenges to London and the boroughs that will be uppermost in the minds of elected members as they meet at the London Councils' Summit this weekend.
