The variation in care services across England is still too wide, according to a new report published today by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The watchdog's annual State of Care report, which looks at health and adult social care services across England, says that while there is much excellent care being provided by frontline staff, inspectors also found many instances of poor care as well.
