With the seaside towns of Clacton-on-Sea, Frinton-on-Sea and Walton-on-the-Naze, Tendring District Council takes its responsibility for Coastal Protection very seriously, which is why we are looking for a first class manager with comprehensive understanding of the problems facing Britain's coastal areas, to provide practical advice to the Council.

You will be used to working in a fast paced environment, and your innovative, creative approach will enable you to achieve results. Your detailed technical understanding of coastal engineering, and experience of working with the Environment Agency and outside agencies will enable you to create a defence strategy that will protect our coastline for the foreseeable future. Managing and supporting the Council's democratic and decision making arrangements demands a first class manager, skilled in all areas of democratic service, and confident when working with senior managers and Councillors.

A substantial record of achievement in democratic services, overview and scrutiny management and/or elections management will provide you with the expertise to deliver a modern, professional and responsive service. You will be flexible and comfortable with change and able to take a leading role in delivering major projects such as a planned review of the Council's decision making arrangements, the introduction of rolling electoral registration and the imminent Police and Crime Commissioner elections.

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Services, and responsible for democratic services, overview and scrutiny support, elections, Member Support and the Chief Executive's office, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your managerial skills and to play a key role at the heart of the Council. Regeneration Manager

We are looking for a Regeneration professional who will relish the major opportunities (including port growth, tourism and renewable energy) and challenges (pockets of nationally significant deprivation and a coastal economy) in Tendring and lead our regeneration team with enthusiasm, innovation and a "can do" approach.

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Services, you will have responsibility for securing funding for, and delivering, major regeneration projects, economic development and business support, strategic tourism, community development and developing a local workforce with the skills for local employment. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a team committed to enabling business and enterprise to thrive and to making the most of the opportunities of our coastal and rural assets.
