Veolia likely to win Leeds waste disposal deal

Leeds City Council’s executive board set to vote on decision to award waste incinerator contract to Veolia Environmental Services Aurora.

Leeds City Council's executive board met yesterday (20 June) – after The MJ went to press – to discuss awarding a waste incinerator contract to Veolia Environmental Services Aurora.

Councillors were due to vote on sending the final business case for the facility on the Cross Green Industrial Estate, and selecting the firm as its preferred bidder. The planned incinerator would take all of Leeds' domestic waste and sort it to remove any metal, paper, cardboard or plastics, which would be recycled.
