Recent political events have given the LGA plenty to get its teeth into, as recently-appointed vice chair, Cllr Nick Forbes, tells Heather Jameson

Political events in the past few days have been dominated by a razor edge vote followed by uncertainty as to the future leadership of the country – while last month saw the Local Government Association (LGA) face a similar position.

After legal wrangling over the constitution, Sheffield's bid was deemed too late to count when it came to taking over the chairmanship. While Labour had become the largest party, the Conservatives held the chair.
