Chaotic scenes involving queuing voters locked out of polling booths which marred the 2010 general election will not be repeated next May, the chair of the Electoral Commission has told MPs.

Chaotic scenes involving queuing voters locked out of polling booths which marred the 2010 general election will not be repeated next May, the chair of the Electoral Commission has told MPs.

Giving evidence to the Commons political and constitutional reform Committee yesterday afternoon, Commission chair Jenny Watson was asked about the risk of a recurrence of the scenes which affected at least 1,200 voters in 27 booths across 16 constituencies.
