Walsall rapped over dumped vote forms

The Information Commissioner’s Office has found Walsall MBC in breach of data protection laws.

The Information Commissioner's Office has found Walsall MBC in breach of data protection laws after an external contractor dumped hundreds of residents' postal vote statements in a skip.

Despite the council's best efforts, some 951 statements holding people's names, addresses, dates of birth and signatures were not recovered and are believed either to be in landfill or destroyed.
