Waltham Forest's housing disruptor

Internationally renowned pioneer of Passivhaus in the UK Emma Osmundsen has a new role at the helm of Waltham Forest LBC’s wholly-owned housebuilding company. She talks to Ann McGauran about Sixty Bricks’ ambitious plans.

When Emma Osmundsen moved from the private sector to work for Exeter City Council's development company, she says she ‘disrupted the way the council did stuff from day one'.

That shift over from what she calls ‘the dark side' meant seizing the opportunity to get the council housebuilding again, something it had not been doing for about 20 years.
