Derek Greedy, Warwickshire CC's principal waste management adviser, has been inaugurated as president of the Chartered Institute of Waste Management.

Mr Greedy has been elevated to the head of the 7,000-strong organisation after joining it in the early 1980s during a career in the sector which has taken him from Devon to Cambridgeshire and on to Warwickshire via spells as landfill manager at several blue chip companies.
