The Government has issued a fresh call for evidence on how radioactive waste sites are selected.

The Government has issued a fresh call for evidence on how radioactive waste sites are selected, after two authorities in Cumbria said they were interested in housing such a site.

Energy minister Baroness Verma said: 'The Government remains firmly committed to geological disposal as the right policy for the safe and secure long-term management of higher-activity radioactive waste.'
