Government plans to reform 'welfare to work' schemes might be over-optimistic and risk placing suppliers in serious financial difficulty, a National Audit Office report has found.

In an analysis of the Work Programme issued today (24 January), the spending watchdog suggests that compared to the Department for Work and Pensions' (DWP) assumptions that two-in-five people among the largest group of jobseekers would find employment, it is more likely that just over a quarter (26%) will.
