The promised regeneration benefits from the Government's controversial HS2 programme may not materialise because of a lack of money, a watchdog has warned.

A report by the National Audit Office (NAO) claimed the £55.7bn funding package for the new high-speed rail line between London and Birmingham, East Midlands and Manchester, will not be enough to deliver all the regeneration projects attached to the scheme.
