Voting watchdogs have rejected claims made by Labour Party leader Ed Miliband that up to a million students and young people will not be registered to vote at May’s General Election.

Voting watchdogs have rejected claims made by Labour Party leader Ed Miliband that up to a million students and young people will not be registered to vote at May's General Election.

Addressing Sheffield Hallam University Students' Union last week, Mr Miliband said it was a ‘scandal' that students would lose their political voice from the switch to Individual Electoral Registration and urged universities and councils to work to remedy the situation.
