'Weak' LEPs need a boost – Heseltine

Lord Heseltine this week urged chancellor George Osborne to empower Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) through his imminent Autumn Statement.

Speaking at an Institute for Government debate on the implications of his recent No stone unturned report, former deputy prime minister Lord Heseltine said Whitehall must admit that LEPs are currently patchy, weak and in need of strengthening.
