Welsh audit charges fury

 Welsh local government officials are furious over controversial Wales Audit Office plans to charge for auditing efficiency savings.

Auditor General for Wales Jeremy Colman has proposed charging each council between £3,000 and £5,000 to ensure reported efficiency gains consist of ‘genuine and sustainable' changes to business practices and ‘cuts in budgets are not counted as efficiency gains.'
