Welsh council chief executives wage settlements will be subject to new transparency arrangements, ministers have confirmed today.

Local government and government business minister, Lesley Griffiths has outlined the regulations, which mean any decisions to set or alter chief officers' pay agreements must be made by a meeting of full council.

Such pay decisions could no longer be set aside for a committee of the council and the regulations would also apply to the new head of democratic services as well as to the appointment and disciplinary procedures for other top authority posts.
