Welsh council tax to rise by 4%

Local authorities in Wales will have £100m more funding in 2015/16 than their counterparts in England, new analysis by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) has found.

Local authorities in Wales will have £100m more funding in 2015/16 than their counterparts in England, new analysis by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) has found.

CIPFA said the average council tax bill in Wales would have been £84 less at £1,243.79 if council tax had been kept down by the threat of being forced to call a referendum, as in England.
