Welsh industrial action legislation amended

Public sector employers in Wales will no longer be able to use temporary workers to cover the work of employees during industrial action.

Public sector employers in Wales will no longer be able to use temporary workers to cover the work of employees during industrial action.

Legislation passed by the Welsh Government will reverse portions of the UK Government's Trade Union Act 2016, thereby preventing the UK government from passing legislation in this area in Wales. The Welsh government is of the view that the UK's legislation only serves to ‘prolong' disputes, causing public services to suffer.
