Welsh have 'too many' small councils says Hain

Welsh secretary Peter Hain has said there are ‘too many small councils' in Wales which ‘aren't really viable'.

Speaking to The MJ, ahead of his speech to the SOLACE Wales conference in Cardiff last week, the Cabinet minister said had he been in charge during the last reorganisation he would have created fewer than the current 22 authorities.
