West Midlands scrap plans for business rates hike

The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) has ruled out a rise in business rates for the region.

The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) has ruled out a rise in business rates for the region.

Plans for a 4% levy on medium and large businesses was part of the authority's original funding strategy set out in 2016. It aimed to raise £34m a year to allow £600m capital investment for infrastructure.
