Westminster City Council has abandoned its controversial plans to charge for evening and weekend parking in the West End.
The outgoing London borough leader, Cllr Colin Barrow, has asked chief executive, Mike More, to prepare a report to drop the proposals, which have attracted widespread criticism across the capital.
