Where's the clarity?

There are some very real issues arising from welfare reform, says Heather Jameson.

As the first round of changes to benefits have kicked in, suddenly the media is alive with debates on welfare reform – if somewhat belatedly.

Much of the coverage has descended into political bun-fighting over the deserving and undeserving poor. Is it a bedroom tax on disabled people, or is it a spare room subsidy for benefit scroungers? The answer is, of course, both – or neither.
