Central Government’s ‘man-marking’ of local decisions in the West Midlands is holding back progress in tackling economic problems, a combined authority chief has said.

Central Government's ‘man-marking' of local decisions in the West Midlands is holding back progress in tackling economic problems, a combined authority chief has said.

Executive director for strategy, economy and net zero at the West Midlands Combined Authority, Ed Cox, told an event that on transport funding ‘we literally have officials man-marking almost every decision that we take, to the point of where we should be locating bus stops'.
