Wigan MBC's new £3m depot for nine different council teams, including highways maintenance and street lighting officially opens on 18 July.

The facility in Ince will be home to 350 council staff and is set to save £1m a year through reduced fuel costs and cheaper maintenance.

‘This state-of-the-art facility is probably the best example of a modern council depot in the country,' said cabinet member for the environment,' said cabinet member for the environment, Cllr Kevin Anderson.
