Wirral going on a summer holiday

Wirral Council has achieved a boom in the region’s visitor economy that could be crucial for wider growth across the North, explains Juggy Landay

The tourism sector has extraordinary potential to be a key weapon in the economic armoury of the Northern Powerhouse, attracting millions of visitors each year.

And new research by the Liverpool Enterprise Partnership shows that Wirral has the fastest growing tourism economy in the Liverpool City Region, with 8.5% growth year-on-year.
