Wirral votes for devolution

Wirral Council had voted to support a motion calling on the government to devolve more powers and funding from Whitehall to the city regions and local authorities in England.

 Wirral Council had voted to support a motion calling on the government to devolve more powers and funding from Whitehall to the city regions and local authorities in England. 

Cllr Phil Davies, leader of Wirral and chair of the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority said: ‘It is right that decisions which affect the people of Wirral and of the wider city regions of the North of England should be made by the people of those regions.
