WLGA issues bleak financial warning

The WLGA has warned that councils could have to cut spending by more than a half as financial cuts continue to bite.

The Welsh Local Government Association (WLGA) has warned that councils could have to cut spending by more than a half as financial cuts continue to bite.

The WLGA spokesperson for finance and resource, Cllr Aaron Shotton, said if the UK Government continues to make 'drastic financial cuts' then local authorities will be reduced to just delivering key services like education, social services and waste collection.
