Local authority chiefs have warned that Scottish Government plans to write-off ‘poll tax' debts could have unintended consequences for the collection of council tax debts.

Giving evidence at the Scottish Parliament's finance committee on 14 January, the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities' (COSLA) finance spokesman, Cllr Kevin Keenan, said they were not ‘overly supportive' of the legislation to end the collection of historic community charge debts.
