All eyes will be on Salford Quays tonight when stand-up comedian Mark Thomas has threatened to break the local authority's ban on swearing.

Mr Thomas has reportedly prepared a list of swear words, which he will incorporate into his set at the Lowry arts centre in a deliberate attempt to break Salford City Council's public space protection order (PSPO), which has made the use of foul or abusive language a criminal offence.
