Leaders accuse Government of destroying 'social contract'

Senior Labour local government figures will launch a Councils Against Austerity campaign next week’s party conference.

Ahead of the conference, 36 Labour council and opposition group leaders published an open letter accusing the Government of destroying the ‘social contract’ and urging ministers to reverse austerity.
