Local authorities will be able to top up council tax rebate

Local authorities will be able to pay households facing financial hardship more than the council tax rebate, the Government has agreed.

Local authorities will be able to pay households facing financial hardship more than the £150 council tax rebate, the Government has agreed.

The MJ understands guidance due to be issued to councils from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) will enable councils to use their discretionary funds to top up the rebate.
