New ways of working

A couple of weeks ago I was talking to staff at one of our regular briefings with one eye anxiously on the door, just in case someone should appear with a missive from the leader informing me that my services were no longer needed. Luckily, the leader is no Donald Trump and unlike the unfortunate James Comey, I lived to fight another day.

The whole episode caused me to reflect on the nature of accountability, and the impact a blame culture might have on an organisation and, more particularly, the staff working within it.
