Re-stitching a brighter future

The importance of re-stitching our social fabric – the networks and institutions that bind people and communities together – in order to address the myriad challenges we as a country face was the focus of a recent national conference held in Halifax, in my district of Calderdale, and at which I spoke.

For all of the discussion and debate around what flows out of the Government’s Levelling Up White Paper, a commitment to achieving the overarching fundamental aim of rebalancing the country and equalising life chances is something that cuts across the party divide.
