Writing this the day after the Budget announcements in Parliament is surreal. We always knew we wouldn’t get all the answers to our questions, but in some ways it feels like there are more questions now than before.

Commentary from the usual technical experts seems like it has also been coming out at a slower pace than previous years. Part of the reason will be due to the surprises that have been announced. An overall package that moves away from a reliance on council tax increases to one where there is more grant funding does feel like a welcome move.
