Think tanks to produce ‘toolkit’ to improve governance

A project part-funded by Whitehall and the Local Government Association aims to produce ‘practical support’ and a toolkit to improve councils’ corporate governance by next summer.

Researchers from Localis and the Centre for Public Scrutiny (CFPS) will interview  councillors, officers, partners and members of the public in six local authorities – including several which have experienced corporate governance failures. They will also analyse paperwork relevant to the individual corporate governance failures.
