ADASS: DToC focus has consequences

The focus on delayed transfers of care compromises a strategic approach, a Care Quality Commission (CQC) official has warned. 

CQC policy manager Rich Brady was speaking at the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) spring seminar today as figures showed a decrease in delayed days from 186,500 in February 2017 to 139,900 in February 2018.

Mr Brady said: 'There is such a focus on achieving these targets that people don't end up receiving the right care in the right place.
