Time to alter the image of adoption

Cllr Roy Perry says there was much to welcome in the Queen’s Speech surrounding support for children and young people, yet the Government’s worrying approaches to academies and adoption must be altered

The Queen's Speech provided much to think about in terms of services for children and young people, in particular relating to adoption and schools.

Many of the provisions within the Children and Social Work Bill have the potential to support the good work already taking places in councils across the country and could make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable children and young people.
