An expert has warned of the soaring costs to London boroughs caused by the phasing out of the analogue phone system.

In 2017, telecommunication companies providing physical copper lines to homes and businesses announced plans to phase out the analogue telephone system (PSTN) by December 2025. This transition has already started, driven by the main players – BT and Virgin Media – followed by 400 smaller telecoms firms and service providers.
