Following unprecedented Welsh Government intervention in Anglesey which ended last week, Richard Parry Jones and Byron Davies expand on the challenges, triumphs and lessons for local authorities.

In March 2011, the Welsh Government took complete control of the Isle of Anglesey County Council, appointing a team of five commissioners to run its affairs. This followed a lack of engagement with a specially convened recovery board and years of turmoil and political infighting.
