The legal battle over pay for carers working sleep-in shifts is to rumble on after an appeal was lodged with the Supreme Court.

Trade union Unison has applied for an appeal against last month's ruling by the Court of Appeal, which found that workers are not considered to be working in the hours when they are asleep and therefore not entitled to be paid minimum wage overnight.
