Autumn Statement: School funding 'insufficient' to meet demand

The Chancellor has announced £1bn funding for school places, and the allocation of 100 new academies in the next two years.

The Chancellor has announced £1bn funding for school places, and the allocation of 100 new academies and free schools in the next two years, in his Autumn Statement 2012.

However, the funding has been deemed too low to provide the school places needed by 2015.
