Banging on the Treasury's door

The whole sector needs to get behind MHCLG to ensure it punches above its weight and ‘has the clout to bring home the goods’ from the Spending Review. And that means a few things, according to Bob Neill

The distractions that currently face everyone working in local government are numerous and vast. Brexit continues to pound along like a runaway train. Within weeks, the country will be led by a new Prime Minister. And there remains a large question mark hovering over how local authorities will be funded in the future.

While it would be remiss of the sector to take its eye off the disruption and uncertainty associated with our impending departure from the EU, above and beyond any other consideration there should be one key focus for all of us over the coming months: the upcoming Spending Review.
