Blood, sweat and tiers

Nicola Bulbeck describes how shared working across local authorities has benefitted the staff and customers of Teignbridge

Throughout the country, devolution opportunities are inspiring two- tier areas to come together with a devolution vision of a shared future. Leadership from both tiers and their unitary neighbours are working together to ensure their areas are at the forefront of seizing devolution opportunities. We all recognise that devolution of powers to local areas is dependent on the strength of the proposals put forward to Government and the opportunities are clearly as much about districts as about counties and cities.

In our enthusiasm to capitalise on the momentum, on knowledge and experience gained and shared across the UK, it feels like a good time to capture and celebrate the great stuff councils such as Teignbridge have already gained from others prepared to share their innovation, success and learning.
