The Learning and Skills Improvement Service accelerates the drive for excellence in the learning and skills sector, building the sector's capacity to design, commission and deliver improvement and strategic change. With secure resources, a clear vision for the future and strong ministerial support, we are well-positioned tomaintain and develop our track record of sustained influence and effective change. It's an exciting time for LSIS.

Led andmonitored by the sector through the LSIS elected Council, the Board of Trustees is responsible for the strategy and its delivery. Our succession cycle means that we now have a number of Trustee vacancies, and we are inviting applications fromcandidates with a range of backgrounds for these stimulating and rewarding positions.

Applicants will have a significant track record of achievement and need a good grasp, not only of our sector, but also the principles of governance in public life. Experience of designing and delivering major training programmes and work-based learning formajor employers is of particular interest to us, as is strategic HR expertise; and we would also like to receive applications from those who can show that they have brought an innovative social enterprise philosophy to developing skills, maximising community impact. Finally, we wish our Board to have greater diversity in all aspects.
