The team brought in to turn around Birmingham has vowed to work more closely with the council.

In a joint letter to the secretary of state, the leader of Birmingham City Council and chair of Birmingham Independent Improvement Panel (BIIP) said they planned to ‘move towards a more collaborative approach'.
