London devo isn't done and reorganisation has a way to go

Just 25 years on from establishing the London devolution deal, it is vastly out of date, says Heather Jameson. 'Structures are not just one and done – they are a moveable feast, required to adapt and change.'

Ever since the rise of metro mayors and devolution deals under the last Government, the London governance landscape has looked increasingly outdated.

The capital's own deal was created alongside that of the devolved nations at the start of the new century. What was once a slimmed-down version of devolution now looks positively porky next to the svelte new combined authorities. But while they are lean, they are anything but mean.
